Lotus
pose (Padma = lotus and Asana = pose ). This is the usual one prescribed for pranayam.
It has little lotus appearance though named after it.
Technique
Sit
on the blanket with legs stretched forward. Place the right foot on the left
thigh touching the bowels. Similarly the left leg, the right leg remaining in
the position already placed. See that the knees, placed in this form, touch the
ground. Then place the hands on the respective knees, sitting erect. This is
Padmasana.
In
the beginning this pose will be a difficult task, but by and by the pose can be
performed easily.
